So Ghostbusters: Answer the Call came out on BluRay last week, and I just got a chance to watch the Extended Cut. Holy shit. I really liked the version I saw in theaters earlier this year but after seeing the Extended Cut I can't recommend it anymore. So many plot lines, motivational explanations, character development scenes, and even effects shots were cut to get it under the apparently studio-mandated sub-2-hour mark. It's only 15 minutes longer but it's spread throughout the entire movie and it really gives everything a chance to breathe more and flow better. I absolutely love it. If you haven't seen Answer the Call yet and you're curious at all, you need to see the Extended Cut over the Theatrical one. It's what should have come out earlier this year.
