I saw Ghostbusters AGAIN! I heard the 3D was done in a cool way and because Star Trek is opening this week, Ghostbusters was gonna lose all its 3D IMAX screen. So I popped in to see it and it was indeed really cool. They change the aspect ratio so that there's black bars on the top and bottom of the screen, and then they let things "break the frame" of the movie and go into the black bars, giving the impression that things are coming out into the theater. Proton beams shooting into the ceiling and excess proton discharge spilling out of the bottom of the screen onto the floor, really awesome. I hope more movies use this technique with their 3D! The only other movie I've heard of that does this is Life of Pi? I'll have to check it out.
